🍗🥒 Chicken & Zucchini Finger Food (7 Months +)

Ingredients (Makes 6–8 small pieces)

  • 100g boneless chicken breast (or thighs for softer texture)

  • ½ small zucchini, grated (skin on if tender)

  • 1 small carrot, grated (optional for extra color & sweetness)

  • 2 tablespoons rolled oats (ground into oat flour)

  • 1 small egg yolk (egg white can be added after 12 months or earlier if no allergy risk)

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Preparation Steps

1. Prepare the Chicken

  • Mince chicken in a food processor or chop very finely with a sharp knife.

2. Combine Ingredients

  • In a bowl, mix chicken, grated zucchini, carrot (if using), oat flour, egg yolk, and olive oil until a soft mixture forms.

3. Shape

  • With clean, slightly damp hands, shape the mixture into small oval or finger-shaped pieces about 5–6 cm long.

4. Cook Gently

  • Place in a non-stick pan over low heat and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side until fully cooked through and light golden.
(Alternatively, bake on a parchment-lined tray at 180°C / 350°F for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway.)

5. Cool & Serve

  • Allow to cool slightly before serving to your baby. Pieces should be soft enough to mash between fingers.

Storage

  • Store cooked pieces in the fridge for up to 2 days.

  • Freeze uncooked shapes between parchment layers for up to 1 month; cook from frozen, adding 1–2 extra minutes.
