🍠🎃 Cocoyam & Pumpkin Stew (8 Months+)
Ingredients

½ cup cocoyam (peeled, diced into small cubes)

½ cup pumpkin (peeled, diced)

½ small onion (optional, very finely chopped — for toddlers)

1 small tomato (peeled, deseeded, chopped — optional)

1 tsp olive oil or unsalted butter

1 cup water or low-sodium vegetable/chicken stock
Instructions

Prepare the base

Heat oil in a small pot.

Add onion and tomato (if using), sauté 2–3 minutes until soft.

Cook the cocoyam & pumpkin

Add diced cocoyam and pumpkin. Stir well.

Pour in water/stock and cover.

Simmer on low for 20–25 minutes until both are very soft.

Mash or blend
-
For 8–9 months → blend into a smooth, creamy stew.

For 10–12 months → mash with a fork, leaving small soft chunks.

Serve warm

Can be given plain or mixed with a little fish, chicken, or beef puree for added protein.
