🍠🥬 Yam Pottage with Veggies (9+ months)

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup soft yam cubes (peeled and diced)

  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped vegetables (e.g., spinach, carrots, or green beans)

  • 1 tsp onion (minced)

  • 1 small tomato (blended or chopped)

  • A drop of palm oil or unsalted butter (optional)

  • A splash of water or low-sodium chicken broth


👩🍳 Instructions:

  1. Cook Yam and Veggies:

    • In a small pot, add yam cubes, tomato, onion, and enough water to cover.

    • Simmer on low heat until yam is soft (10–12 minutes).

    • Add the chopped veggies in the last 3–5 minutes of cooking.

  2. Mash and Combine:

    • Once soft, mash yam and veggies lightly together to desired texture.

    • Add a drop of palm oil or butter if using for extra flavor and healthy fat.

  3. Cool and Serve:

    • Let the pottage cool slightly.

    • Serve warm in a baby bowl.
