🍠🐟 Cocoyam & Fish Purée (7 Months +)

Ingredients (1–2 baby portions)

  • ½ cup cocoyam (peeled and diced)

  • 2 tablespoons boneless white fish (such as tilapia, sole, or snapper)

  • 1 small carrot, peeled and chopped (optional for extra sweetness & vitamin A)

  • ¾ cup water or homemade fish/vegetable stock (no salt)

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or vegetable oil


Preparation Steps

1. Cook the Cocoyam & Carrot

  • Add cocoyam and carrot to a small saucepan with water/stock.

  • Simmer over medium heat for 8–10 minutes until soft.

2. Add the Fish

  • Add the fish pieces to the pot and continue cooking for 3–5 minutes until the fish is fully cooked and flakes easily.

3. Blend to Purée

  • Add oil, then blend the mixture until smooth and creamy.

  • For a slightly thicker texture, mash instead of blending.

4. Cool & Serve

  • Let cool to a safe temperature before feeding your baby.


Storage

  • Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.

  • Freeze in baby food cubes for up to 1 month; thaw and reheat before serving.
